Location
AERIS/ICARE is on the University of Lille campus (Cité Scientifique) in Villeneuve d’Ascq (France), in building M3-extension, a 2-story building on concrete piles. It’s a 8-minute walk from either the “Cite Scientifique Professeur Gabillard” Metro station or from the “4 Cantons – Grand Stade” Metro station (terminus of the line).

There are 2 train stations downtown.
From Lille-Europe train station (about 20 min.):
- Take the subway line 2 towards Saint Philibert (line n° 2)
- At “Gare Lille-Flandres” change to line 1 towards 4 Cantons Grand Stade
- Get off at “Cite Scientifique Professeur Gabillard”
From Lille-Flandres train station (about 15 min.):
- Take the subway line 1 towards 4 Cantons Grand Stade
- Get off at “Cite Scientifique Professeur Gabillard”

Getting to Lille by plane and by train
By plane
From Paris/Charles de Gaulle international airport, a 50-minute ride with the High Speed Train (TGV) will take you to Lille-Europe or Lille-Flandres train station.
From Lille/Lesquin international airport, take the shuttle bus to Lille Europe train station and then take the subway to the University of Lille campus (Cité Scientifique) or take a taxi from the airport directly to the University of Lille campus (10 km).
From Brussels/Zaventem international airport, there is a 20-minute ride to Brussels Midi train station and then 40-minute ride to reach Lille with the high-speed train (“Thalys” or “Eurostar” heading for London).
By train
There are 2 train stations downtown, Lille-Flandres and Lille-Europe. Travel time by TGV (high speed train):
- Paris – Lille: 50 minutes
- Bruxelles – Lille: 38 minutes
- Londres – Lille: 2 hours

Getting to University of Lille by car
From Paris, take highway A1 towards Lille, then E42 towards Bruxelles/Gand/Roubaix/Villeneuve d’Ascq. Exit at Cité Scientifique – 4 Cantons (exit 2b).
From Brussels, take highway E19 to Paris (Parijs), then E429/E42 towards Lille (Rijsel), then A22 towards Gand/Tourcoing/Roubaix/Villeneuve d’Ascq. Exit at Cité Scientifique / 4 Cantons (exit 2b).
From Gand, take highway E17 towards Kortrijk, then A22 towards Lille. Follow directions to A23/Valenciennes/Villeneuve d’Ascq, then Villeneuve d’Ascq – Autres Quartiers. Exit at Cité Scientifique – 4 Cantons (exit 2b).
From Calais, take highway A26 towards St-Omer, and transfer to highway A1 towards Lille. Follow direction to Villeneuve d’Ascq and Gand. Exit at Cité Scientifique.
After exiting the highway:
The University campus is across the traffic light. Drive straight ahead to the roundabout (next to the “4 Cantons – Grand Stade” Metro station) and turn left into Paul Langevin Avenue. After 850m, turn right on Carl Gauss Avenue and enter the parking lot located immediately to the right.
